Altar Society

 

The Altar Society offer their dedicated service and are involved in the life of the Church in a special way.  Their work includes vacuuming the sanctuary, dusting the altar and the areas around it, cleaning and polishing the sacred vessels and generally tidying the sacristy.  The washing, ironing and folding the altar linen is also part of this work,

The small group of helpers meet on Saturday between 9 and 11am and they would welcome more help, particularly from younger people.


A Prayer

If you are not able to assist in any way, perhaps you could pray for help to come forward as soon as possible:


Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that any one who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.

Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins my Mother;
to thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful;

O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy clemency hear and answer me.
